About
Across Borders Sweden
Education is key
The core concept behind Across Borders Sweden is that everyone has the capacity to learn, develop and contribute.
But most of the times we can't do this on our own, we need to get connected with other people who have a certain speciality or expertise in a specific area. It could be an expert, a teacher, a manager, a supervisor, a motivational speaker, a friend or basically anyone you feel you can connect with and learn from.
At Across Borders Sweden we will support you in the areas in which you need us the most. It could be from getting you connected with experts to being a friend offering well-informed advice.
Across Borders Sweden believes that helping people connect to learn from one another builds better societies.

The Person Behind Across Borders Sweden

I'm Anna-Karin Berg, originally a cert. language teacher in secondary - adult education since 2007.
Since I started working with the Erasmus+ programme in 2014, I realised that there were more ways of creating opportunities for the children and youngsters I met every day.
2018 I was hired to manage an Erasmus+ consortium of then 12 upper secondary schools. The consortium grew and the needs and solutions grew with it.
It became my main motivation to make the schools as independent as possible in working with education, the Erasmus+ programme and the horizontal priorities.
I created tools, methods and strategies for capacity-building and a sign of this accomplishment is that we were able to complete 200 mobilities/ year to nearly 1000 mobilities/ year in 5 years, both as a sending and receiving organisation.
I would describe myself as a pragmatic idealist. In my work as an educator and international projects manager, I constantly strive to find the most efficient ways to reach most impact.
They key concepts that shape my work is facilitiation, communication and accessibility.
"My passion is learning and I want others to find that joy and empowerment that only learning can bring. To experience that moment when a child or an adult realise that they CAN instead of CAN'T, is truly awesome. That very moment means they have taken another step forward in feeling more confident and understanding that they can affect their future. Then the next step to contributing to a better future for EVERYONE, is smaller. "
